This was probably the song that brought the Senegalese musician to limelight in 2004 coupled with another single LONELY. The LOCKED UP track got lots of international airplay across the world, and even had a topnotch remix with StylesP and Taz.
In 2004, T-Pain sampled the song in a parody recording "I'm Fucked Up". In 2005, the song was sampled in the track "Won't Let Me Out" by C-Murder.
The track was recorded in October 2003, written and produced by AKON himself, but was not released until April 2004.
